Our first visit to the ER

To make a long story short Benji wound up in the ER a couple of Sundays ago after pulling a three foot toy shelf that was not secured down on himself, splitting his lip open. Sorry no pics!  Luckily the crying and the bleeding was stopped easily, but we had to delay going to the ER immediately(I had a quiche in the oven.).  He was doing great and since it was dinner time he thought we were going out to dinner because as soon as we parked in the parking lot he said "Eat!" Once inside, we were seen, stitched and discharged in under an hour. Who knew that Sunday nights were a good time to get emergency care. Big boy didn't really care for the rubber gloves and poor guy screamed and cried when we papoosed him and I held his head while they numbed and stitched him.  Afterward he just held mama and calmed down. Once home (after 8pm), he promptly said "Eat!" again and we gave him a little something before putting him down where he slept for 12 hours. His lip looked pretty jacked for a couple of days but when the stitches fell out and the swelling went down it wasn't so bad. It didn't seem to affect him much, he's still climbing and falling and driving the plasma car downhill on our driveway head first.  Crazy boy, I don't think this is our last visit to the ER.

nope! it isn't :-)
every one of my boys has had stitches. (Nathan and Jared 3 times each)
it's just part of the package. boys will be boys!

I think that boys just like the ER and tend to do things subconsciously that will help them to return again and again :)
