Some people might have a different idea of what a babymoon is, but I think of it as a super fun couple get-a-way before the baby is born and no other kids are involved. Adam and I took such a trip a few weeks ago before our college age babysitter went back to BYU-Idaho. We have fallen in love with Lake Tahoe and surrounding area so I booked us a room at Squaw Valley, where the winter Olympics were in 1960, in The Village for two nights. We drove out to the lake before we checked in the first night and rented stand-up paddle boards for three hours and paddled along the shore into Crystal Bay. The water is just gorgeous and clear and refreshing. We brought goggles and swam among the boulders and Adam jumped off a few. We even found a nice rock to recline on and soak up the sun. I apologize for the immodesty of one of my photos. It was super fun!
The hotel is designed like a village with all the rooms above the shops and restaurants. It was very cute and pretty family friendly. Along with our stay two tram tickets and High Camp pool passes were included. The Village is located at 6200 ft, High Camp is at 8200 ft and Squaw Peak is at 8900 ft. We took the tram from The Village to High Camp in the morning and then hiked the 2.2 miles up to Squaw peak, took some pictures and then hiked back down. We were the first ones up at the top. Then we ate lunch at the High Camp restaurant and hung out at the pool the rest of the afternoon. Even though it was hot, the water was cool and it was a little breezy to enjoy, so we mostly laid out in the sun, read and dipped a couple of times in the hot tub.
Love this guy~
Boulders speckled the whole shore
Classic shot!
The water was gorgeous!
Sorry, my maternity suit is just not suited for swimming or paddling.

The evenings were nice and cool, but not cold enough for a sweater. The best part was eating dinner in a restaurant and getting to taste and enjoy it. We almost never go out with the kids, besides expense, because we end up shoveling our food because Benji has lost interest in sitting in his high chair. This frequently happens at home too. We sure enjoyed the time together, but did think about how the kids would have enjoyed it too. Mmmm, maybe next time.

Wow. I've never even heard the term "BabyMoon." I like it! Wish I had done something like that. Looks like a fun trip!
Wish we could have gone on a baby moon. Its too hard with so many kids already!
We love Squaw Valley! Although I would have liked to go without kids also. Lake Tahoe is awesome to, we went there every year during Spring Break. Although what's funny is that we never went in warm weather, we just went for the snow. Beautiful place!
So glad you had some time to get away! Couple trips are the best!
beautiful pics:-)
