Hitting the Trail

I started running again after my neck injury and ran a couple of trail races at the beginning of the summer. In one race I actually came in fourth over all females and third in my age group and later found out that a lady's daughter (age 15) ran in the race for her, because she was injured, and she came in second overall.  Had her mom ran the race I most likely would have beat her as we have run some of the same races and I out pace her.  So technically I was third overall and second in my age group.  Oh well, the prizes are all the same. It was fun and I beat my time by 10 minutes. I run with a group and mostly do 8-10 mile runs once a week with them on the trail but I've been doing longer runs, up to 19 every couple of weeks and doing some runs in the high Sierra's (pictures). A friend and I are doing a trail marathon in October and I'm looking forward to it.  Training has been tough but I've learned a ton about hydrating and fueling on long runs and to just keep moving.  It does take up a bit of time though. Adam's been very supportive.  I'm looking forward to taking some time off this winter though.

The moss on the tree was fluorescent green.
We passed by 5 lakes at about 7500 ft.
