Laura Ingalls

The third grade class at Olivia's school this year is learning about early pioneers and ways of life. Her class went to a hands on museum that teaches kids about their daily lives. They got to dress up and participate in activities like washing laundry by hand and cleaning and baking, etc. We borrowed this great outfit from a friend and talented seamstress. Olivia's favorite part of the museum was making a rag doll and doing the laundry. She wishes we still did laundry by hand because she would help do it everyday.  I hate doing laundry with modern conveniences, I can't imagine doing it by hand?! Her class is also going to read some of the Laura Ingalls books. I actually found a complete cherry set of paperback books at a used a bookstore. We have been reading them together since the summer. It brings back memories from when I read them as a child. It has been a really fun thing for her and I to do together.

So adorable. My daughter enjoyed reading them too. We are now watching the old TV shows (got it from Netflix) as a family. The kids were reluctant to watch it but are really liking it now.
