Garden

We are starting to enjoy the fruits of our labor in this garden.  I'm loving it, eating more veggies than ever, well, at least I am. I can't get my kids to eat chard or squash.  It has been so enjoyable watching things pop out of the ground.  Some things haven't been a success, but some have surprised us.  I'm super excited about the raspberries.  They won't produce much this year but we can get about a handful a day right now.  The corn is so pretty in rows and we have beans coming out of our ears. This is what I really wanted when we chose this lot for our house: a yard big enough for a garden an a pool.  If only we could afford the pool...

Green onion, leeks, jalepeno, cilantro, basil, oregano and thyme in the herb garden.
I have about 6 different lettuces growing, plus spinach and kale.
 Shelling peas
 Chard

Beans galore-yellow and green-so pretty!  Yes, she is too!
Onions line all the boxes. We also have tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, melons, two different beets, turnups, and giant sunflowers.
Squash mound.  I had to replant all but one mound because they didn't grow the first time.
Watching the corn pop up in rows.
We have two different raspberry types, an early producer and a late producer.

Okay, I just read through all your posts....I feel like you're super mom. I can't believe all the stuff you do. You're amazing.

I really must not be motivated, because it all sounds exhausting. You put me to shame. I wish I had that kind of energy.

Maybe someday. Keep up the good work!

ps..I would have been rude to the airline dude on the phone too!

I hear you on the food thing and feel the mental exhaustion you mentioned. It's a battle to choose between hours in the kitchen preparing whole foods from scratch or using convienence products like cream of chicken soup and knocking a casserole out in 30 mins!
Your garden is amazing!! Your yard too! I don't know how you find time to stay on top of everything. I can't even keep my laundry caught up. There is always a load or two piling up on me even when I think I've finished!
